One of the areas that we source our Açaí, comes from the Santana Community, a small riverside village in Para, a state in Northern Brazil. The community is located in a reserve that has over 4,000 hectares of protected land where 75 families live. Most of the families have a native açaizal area where they collect the fruits that are sold to the middlemen that pass through the island. The sale of açaí, together with fishing, are the main sources of income and consumption for the families living there.

We understand that sustainability and the use of forest products is the only possible path to a new world, with social and economic development in the region with the most diverse biodiversity on the planet. Our ingredients are organically grown and/or wild-harvested and extracted from the Amazon Rainforest by traditional communities that respect mother nature and local culture and are vested in preserving the standing forest. Our oils and butters are obtained from cold-press extraction in an expeller-type process to maintain the nutritional value of our ingredients. No preservatives, additives, or other chemical products are added to the process. Our choice ingredient selection criteria are not based on cost. We know the best plant-derived ingredients may cost a little more; however, we take pride in investing in what matters most.
We work closely with local communities and co-ops that provide training to make certain that ethical agroforestry forest management practices are in place. This leads to job opportunities that economically support the traditional communities of the Amazon. We also prioritize ingredients that are wild-harvested so that more families can be involved.
We are obsessed with sustainable packaging. We avoid plastic as much as we can and cant wait for the industry to evolve to offer more intelligent solutions.
Our products are 95% curbside-recycled. But it isn’t enough; that’s only the beginning of the product’s life-cycle. We believe end-of-life is far more critical and that is where we rely on your help. Please, take the right steps so our bottles and jars don’t end up in a landfill!
