We strive towards more sustainable packaging through the use of glass components and responsibly sourced paper. But it isn’t enough; that’s only the beginning of the product’s life-cycle. We believe end-of-life is far more critical to ensure products don’t end up in a landfill.

The paper tubes and box are 100% curbside recyclable and don't need any extra care. Properly recycling our glass jars can make a big impact.
1. Separate your lid, dropper/pipette, and/or rubber top from the glass container. Pull apart the dropper, so the materials are stripped down to a singular source.
2. Thoroughly wash the glass with hot, soapy water, rinse and let it dry.
3. Place it in your recycling bin for curbside pickup
4. If you don't have curbside recycling, research information regarding your local recycling facility. Check out I Want To Be Recycled here to find your local recycling options, how to recycle, and what to recycle.
5. If all else fails, send it to us, and we'll recycle them via TerraCycle's Zero Waste Box. Learn more below!

To increase recycling rates of our packaging, we have our own recycling program in partnership with Terracycle that allows you to return empty Amazonian Skinfood products to us for free to guarantee appropriate recycling for them. This is a great option if you don't have curbside.
After the waste is recycled into a raw material, it is sold to manufacturing companies who produce the end product and complete the journey of recycling. These end products may include outdoor furniture and decking, plastic shipping pallets, watering cans, storage containers and bins, tubes for construction applications, flooring tiles, playground surface covers and athletic fields, and much more.

To truly bring about change, we must offer options for reducing, reusing, recycling and refilling. We are committed to offering refillable options by 2024, so we can reduce skincare trash even further. Amazing, right? Our Refillable packaging solutions aim to reduce carbon emissions and promote a more circular design system to reduce waste and packaging.
